Free Energy Efficiency Upgrades Available
Full Description:
The Energy $aving Partners (E$P) program, sponsored by Energy Outreach Colorado and the Governor’s Energy Office, provides free energy efficiency upgrades to qualifying Colorado households. E$P has weatherized more than 60,000 Colorado homes since 1976, completing over 3,000 homes each year. The E$P program provides the following free services to qualifying households:
* A comprehensive energy audit
* Attic, wall and crawlspace insulation
* Air leakage reduction measures
* A forced air furnace efficiency assessment
* An appliance safety inspection
* A high efficiency lighting survey
* An inspection for other potential safety problems
Eligible housing types include single-family houses, mobile homes and multifamily units. Both renters and homeowners are eligible for the program. Individuals who receive benefits from a number of low-income assistance programs, such as LIHEAP, SSI, TANF and COAP automatically qualify to receive E$P services.
