Erin Swiatek has attended Mead Middle School for a little longer than a year, but her father could not be happier with her progress.
“Whatever they’re doing, the information is getting in to Erin at school,” Ed Swiatek said recently.
Such achievement may not seem like much to most parents. But Erin has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome and other learning disabilities, her father said. Asperger’s syndrome is a form of autism in which children have high IQs but trouble interacting with other people.
