LONGMONT, CO COMPLETES CITYWIDE Wi-Fi DEPLOYMENT
Full Description:
Kite Networks, a wireless subsidiary of MobilePro Corp., has completed the initial phase of its Wi-Fi deployment for Longmont, Colorado. The the Wi-Fi mesh network, covering approximately 22 square miles of Longmont, was completed in less than 90 days.
Kite constructed and will own and operate the network. The City of Longmont will be a tenant on the network for public safety and other municipal applications. The network uses Tropos 5210 MetroMesh routers, which are operational with backhaul connections to the city's fiber optic ring owned by the Longmont Power and Communications Utility.
